Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth call it quits: Miley Cyrus and her Australian actor boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, have ended their well-publicized relationship, reports celebrity news website Gossip Cop. The teen queen, who once told a reporter that she and Liam were “deeper than other people,” recently called it quits with her Aussie boyfriend of one year.

Miley, 17, and Liam, 20, first met on the Georgia film set of The Last Song, and it seems that Miley, who had just broken up with her ex Justin Gaston, was smitten right away.

“I met him, and he opened the door for me, and I was like, ‘I have been in L.A. for three years, and I don’t think any guy has actually opened the door for me,’” she told Ellen Degeneres back in March. Reports of their break-up had first surfaced in June, but the couple flatly denied them.

“[Liam has] become my best friend in the whole wide world. I love him,” Miley had told Parade magazine. “He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia; he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here. I got to tell him about myself on my own terms and my own way. He had no preconceived notion of who I was supposed to be.”

Miley has previously dated model Justin Gaston and Jonas Brothers star Nick Jonas. She admired Liam openly and even took him to meet her family, which reportedly brought the two closer.
